Elopement wedding photography – “Hi Vie, we’re getting married, meet us for a coffee and we will tell you our plans.” So meet for coffee we did, Donnalee and Brian were relaxed and excited to tell me their plans for their elopement wedding in another two weeks. The night before their big day I stayed the night at Donnalee’s with her daughter and step daughter and the day began at six am with her hairdresser and make up artist friends arriving to get her ready. The beautiful Spring flowers sat waiting, the time rushed by so quickly and it was all hand on board to lace Donnalee into her stunning Alan Hannah 70’s style trouser outfit, topped with flowy Summer hat. The early morning sun shone as we drove to the train station for Brian’s first view of his bride to be. The whole day was one of smiles, laughter, tears of joy and fun. We arrived at the Islington registry office and enjoyed coffee and cake at Romeo’s, they walked across the road and up the impressive staircase to the Mayor’s chamber for a relaxed and beautiful ceremony. Brian’s young son did an emotional reading and after they tied the knot they danced to music – it was so appropriate, after they had met through their passion of dance. I then embarked with them in their white wedding taxi to some London landmarks for some relaxed elopement wedding photography, they shared an ice cream in the sunshine and we then headed to the Ritz to meet up with their children and dear friend Elise. It was the perfect venue for an intimate wedding breakfast, a beautiful selection of sandwiches, cake and tea. Then a taxi to the station for the journey home – it was a fantastic, fun day, one that they had chosen and one I had great pleasure in capturing for them.
